Who We Are & How It Works

3 questions
What is Lumiere?+

Lumiere is a personal degree strategy service. We are not a college, platform, or course marketplace. We build custom roadmaps that help students move from stuck to graduated faster.

Are you a college or an online course platform?+

No. Students enroll with colleges and approved credit sources. Lumiere handles strategy, mapping, transfer planning, paperwork guidance, and advisor support.

How do you know which credits transfer?+

We map courses against target university requirements, credit policies, general education rules, elective needs, upper-level requirements, and major requirements before a student commits time or money.

Can I begin while still in high school?+

Zero-credit students are common. Lumiere can build a full plan from scratch using transfer-aware, low-cost, accredited credit-bearing options.

Can I work while studying?+

Most online pathways do not require a student visa, but individual school requirements and personal immigration questions should be reviewed separately.

Foreign credits may be considered, but they usually require evaluation and must match the target institution's transfer policies.

What if I get stuck during the plan?+

White-glove support means your advisor helps clear obstacles, adjust sequencing, and keep the path moving.
